COVID-19 Information
Attached are the updated guidance for Bristol Public Schools based on recommended COVID-19 practices released by the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Connecticut State Department of Education (SDE) on February 18, 2022. Our BPS document is divided into two sections; 1) an expansive section with guiding questions, specific metrics related to the City of Bristol, and the results summary of the BPS survey that was sent to our families and staff in regards to a local extension of the mask requirement and 2) a shorter, one-page summary of changes to universal masking in Bristol Public Schools.
- Beginning on February 28, 2022, masks are no longer mandated and will be optional for all BPS scholars and staff.
- Masks will continue to be required for all BPS scholars visiting the school nurse’s office.
- Masks will continue to be federally mandated and required for anyone traveling on a BPS bus or contracted carrier/vendor. *effective 3/1/22, masks are optional on a BPS bus or contracted carrier/vendor
- Per DPH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, isolation and/or quarantine protocols for positive cases remain unchanged.
Test kits are available to all students and employees and will be distributed on February 24 and February 25.
