July 2026: Issue #11

July 4th – Saturday, 2:00pm — The National Bell Festival has established the U.S. Semiquincentennial Committee to plan the bell ringing contribution to our nation’s 250th birthday. Bells will be rung 13 times at 2:00pm.

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the Connecticut Clearinghouse is putting on a completely free Family Wellness Fair. They are opening up their space at 334 Farmington Ave. in Plainville from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for a day dedicated to family fun and health. It’s going to be a great day packed with family-friendly fun, wellness activities, and a chance to connect with local community resources. Bring the kids out to enjoy a magic show, arts & crafts, face painting, cool giveaways, an ice cream truck, therapy dogs and more!

BRISTOL YOUTH LACROSSE SUMMER PROGRAM
Take your game to the next level this summer! Our Summer Lacrosse Program is designed for boys and girls in Grades 2–8 who want to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and grow their love for the game!
WHO: Boys & Girls Grades 2–8, including those advancing to High School.
WHAT: A 6-session program focused on skill development, drills, and lacrosse fundamentals to help players continue improving throughout the summer.
WHEN: Program starts the week of July 6th.
Girls: Mondays, 6:00–7:00 PM
Boys Grades 2–4: Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 PM
Boys Grades 5–8: Wednesdays, 7:00–8:00 PM
COST: Only $50 for all 6 sessions! Equipment will be available to borrow.
WHERE: Bristol Eastern High School – Front Field
WHY: Whether new to the game or building on experience, players will learn lacrosse fundamentals, sharpen skills, and enjoy a summer of fun with Bristol Youth Lacrosse.

3D Printing Class for students in Grades 5-8 at Tunxis Community College, July 20-24 from 8 am-12 pm. Learn the essentials of 3D Printing and design in a fun and interactive environment. Cost is $100.
The Bristol Chorale


The Bristol Chorale is holding its Second Annual Summer Session, Words Worth Singing, beginning July 13. We will rehearse on Monday. Wednesday, Friday (7/13, 7/15, 7/17) and Monday and Wednesday (7/20, 7/22). We will end with a potluck social and performance for our friends and families on Friday, July 24. High school students are welcomed and encouraged to participate to see if singing with us is a good fit. Students are FREE for the summer session, but registration is required.

Bell City Broncos Pop Warner Football
The Bell City Broncos Youth Football Fall Tackle Football Program is designed for athletes ages 5–13 looking to develop their skills in a structured, competitive, and supportive environment.
Who: Youth athletes ages 5–13
What: Fall tackle football program focused on skill development and competition
When: Season begins July 14 (registration open now)

Why: To build strong, disciplined football players while supporting youth development in the Bristol community

Proceeds from this event will benefit the BEF’s efforts to award Mini Grants to Bristol Public School teachers and to support innovative programs for students. Help us continue the mission of supporting the educational needs of Bristol’s scholars!
