Bevin Parent, 2027 Bristol Public Schools Teacher of the Year

Bristol Public Schools is proud to announce that Bevin Parent, a teacher at Mountain View School, has been selected as the 2027 Bristol Public Schools Teacher of the Year.
This honor recognizes an educator who exemplifies excellence in teaching, leadership, and service to students. Selected from an outstanding group of nominees, Mrs. Parent was recognized for her dedication to creating a classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed both academically and socially.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Parent has embraced a student-centered approach that prioritizes strong relationships, social-emotional learning, and inclusive practices. She serves as a mentor to new and aspiring educators, contributes to district initiatives focused on curriculum and school climate, and actively supports professional learning opportunities for colleagues.
One of her most significant contributions has been the creation of Mountain View School’s Kindness Club. Now in its fourth year, the student-led program has engaged more than 100 students in service-learning projects that support local shelters, nursing homes, hospitals, animal welfare organizations, and other community partners. Through these experiences, students develop empathy, leadership skills, and a commitment to making a positive difference in their community.
Colleagues, students, and families describe Mrs. Parent as a compassionate educator who inspires students to lead with kindness, embrace differences, and recognize the impact they can have on others. Her work reflects Bristol Public Schools’ Vision of the Graduate by helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to thrive and contribute meaningfully in an ever-changing world.
