Superintendent's Weekly Update- October 26, 2025

Posted Date: 10/27/25 (8:29 PM)

Dear BPS Community:

Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences. Your partnership and engagement are vital to supporting student success. These conferences are an important opportunity to strengthen the home-school connection and to work together in supporting each child’s learning and growth.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our administrators and teachers for the significant time and effort they invested in preparing for and conducting these conferences. Their dedication to individualizing each experience ensures that every family has the chance to learn more about their child’s progress and how we can continue to help them thrive.

In partnership,

Iris White
Superintendent of Schools

Special BOE Meeting/Redistricting Workshop:

Bristol Public Schools has contracted with MP Planning Group to prepare a redistricting plan for implementation in the 2026-2027 school year.  MP Planning has visited West Bristol and Greene-Hills to gather detailed knowledge of the buildings, including their current use of space, with a focus on the areas used for grades 6-8 instruction, which will become available next year.

  • Three committees have been formed and are meeting regularly:

    • Core Redistricting Committee, made up of buildings that will be most directly affected, union representatives that will be affected, and the Central Office Team.

    • An optional Bristol Association of Principals and Supervisors team (BAPS) to garner suggestions and recommendations.

    • NEMS Building Committee, made up of our facilities team, the Mayor, and stakeholders in the community.

The Board of Education will hold a Special Meeting, Redistricting Workshop on Thursday, October 30th, at 6:00 p.m. in the BOE Auditorium and via the Zoom Platform:
