Our Unified Sports program is rolling! Over 1 million people worldwide participate in Unified Sports programs, helping to create opportunities for success through inclusion for students with mental and/or physical challenges. Unified Sports pairs students of a similar age, one with a mental/physical challenge and one without. We refer to these pairings as athlete and peer. The peer is like a "coach on the field" as they practice skills alongside their athlete partner while encouraging them. Many teachers and adult members of the Hubbell family coach our team in different sports skills such as dribbling, throwing, catching, jumping, juggling, shooting hoops and many more!Unified sports meets once per month after school. Enjoy a few photos of our Unified Sports Team members.
On January 28th, 2018, members of the Hubbell faculty and family participated in the Polar Plunge, a fundraiser supporting the Special Olympics. The team had 14 members and together raised over $1,100.00 for this deserving association.Below is a picture of the team members exiting from the freezing water, pretty chilly and anxious for warm towels and hot chocolate!
