Joan K. Alexander

2nd Distinguished Alumna

Connecticut Superior Court Justice Joan Kulowski Alexander was honored as Bristol Central's 2nd Distuinguished Alumna on Apr. 12, 2006. A 1980 graduate of Bristol Central, Judge Alexander attended Yale University and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She served for 12 years as a prosecuting attorney, specializing in forensics and criminal cases and in 2000 was appointed to the Superior Court Bench. She is currently working out of the New Haven court.

Judge Alexander was presented the Distinguished Alumnus Award by principal Dennis Siegmann during a power breakfast for gifted and talented students. The ceremony also included the display of award winning student art, poetry readings by student Jane Kennedy and Nathan Whelan-Morin, a musical selection by Sarah Meehan and DeVon Carrasco and an essay by Jamie Lee Metesky.
