PTO NEWS

Hubbell School is growing a whole new PTO this year! We are excited to work together as parents, teachers, guardians, support staff and administrator to support our Hubbell community!

The current PTO Subcommittee listing is available on our school website, to provide an understanding of what group(s) you may like to volunteer for. If everyone just pitches in for one subcommittee or fundraising event we can have an outstanding year! If you want to formally sign up to be part of the PTO and/or volunteer for a subcommittee, please complete the PTO involvement form available in the lobby at EPH!

A message from your

P.T.O.

Ellen P. Hubbell School

Another school year has gone by! The PTO recognizes that this was another tough year economically and appreciates every penny and every sale that families contributed to our fundraising efforts. We hope you and your children have enjoyed the school year and we thank you for all of your participation and contributions. Without your help we could not provide any of the enrichment programs and family activities for Hubbell students.

Our main goal each year is to raise money to plan and fund student enrichment programs, field trips and family activities at our school. We partner with the school’s administration and faculty by providing volunteers in the classroom, library or computer lab. All profits from our book fairs go directly to the library staff so that they can purchase the best books and educational materials for our school library. We purchased planners for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. We had great turn-outs at our Fall Bingo Night and Trunk or Treat party and our Holiday and Vendor Fairs. The PTO provided the dunk tank and popsicles on Field Day. We also rewarded all students who participated in the summer reading program with a $4 book fair coupon. Lastly, a $500 scholarship was awarded to a BEHS student this May.

This school year (2011-2012) our goal was to raise $14,000 to support the above. As of June 6, 2012 our goal was achieved due to your response to our three main fundraisers: Lyman Orchards Pies, winter read-a-thon and Mixedbag Designs. All three exceeded our expectations and we thank everyone for their participation. Your support in our Box Tops and Labels for Education campaigns was tremendous and we had our best year ever! Keep clipping those Box Tops!

Please take some time this summer to consider forming a PTO with your friends or family members involved with Hubbell School. It is a great opportunity to meet the staff and make new friends and to learn all about the school. If you would like more information, please contact PTO at hubbellpto@att.net.

PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING SOME OF YOUR TIME TO HELPING YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE PTO!
