Although the amounts may vary, all core teachers will assign homework. The time needed to complete homework assignments will vary for each student. Some assignments are not in written form, but require study and review for mastery of the subject content and adequate preparation for tests and quizzes. Long term reports and projects should not be left until the last minute.
For MBMS students, an average of 300 minutes/5 hours per week of homework is normal and expected. A daily planner is provided for students to assist in keeping track of assignments.
Students must assume responsibility for work missed due to absences from school. If a student is absent for a day or two, it is expected that the student will call a classmate for assignments. For absences of three days or more, parents may call the school office, guidance counselor, or team leader to request homework assignments. Assignments will be prepared and in the office by 3:00 p.m. the following day.
- Use your plan book.
- If in doubt, see your teachers after class or after school with homework questions.
- Select a quiet place to study.
- When absent for a day, ask your teacher or another student for assignments missed.
