Department Philosophy
The Social Studies curriculum will help students to discover relationships and concepts that will lead to an understanding of the world they live in. Students will examine past and present conditions of the world.
Seventh Grade Scope
The Social Studies program of both the sixth and seventh grades is based heavily on building geographic knowledge. Students are exposed to the regions of the world and specific periods in history. Emphasis is placed on the conditions which make each area, or time frame, unique.
The seventh grade course of study centers on Europe, Asia, Africa and Medieval Times. This, as with the sixth grade program, provides an overview, rather than a concentration on any one topic.
