Dr. Seuss Day and the Ivy Drive Read-athon On Friday, March 1st, we celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday and the Ivy Drive Read-athon. Our mayor Mr. Ward stopped by to read to some lucky kindergarten students!
The Cat in the Hat made a special visit during lunch while children feasted on green eggs and ham!
We played Dr. Seuss's ABC Bingo and were treated to a delicious birthday cake in his honor. (Thanks to the Big Y for the generous donation of the yummy cake!)
Later on, we all spent half an hour reading while relaxing in our pajamas with a snack of popcorn and water!
Donations to our read-athon helped fund a recent visit from author Jacqueline Davies who wrote The Lemonade War.
A great day was had by all! Thanks to all that volunteered and donated to make this event possible!

Dr. Vojtek received a letter from an Ivy Drive parent with a plea for safe driving in our parking lot. She wanted to share his words and the story of his family's recent loss, in the hopes that our Ivy Drive families will demonstrate our commitment to our children through safer driving, both in our school lot and our neighborhoods.
