PBIS Classroom Expectations and Suggestions

What POSITIVE behaviors can EARN TICKETS for students?

  • Following directions/making good choices in difficult situations
  • Being kind/caring towards a classmate
  • Telling the truth
  • Being helpful
  • Healthy snacks (given on random days)
  • Whole class is on silver (2 signatures on chart)
  • Homework completed for entire month
  • Clean desk award or staff helper
  • Quick transition time
  • Cleanest station/work area
  • Doing extra work when not asked to
  • Dressing on spirit day
  • PE all-star
  • Returning important forms
  • Listening when others are talking

What behaviors may result in color changes? (Many of these behaviors will receive a warning before a color change is made)

  • Being mean
  • Unsafe behavior
  • Disrespect
  • Not telling the truth
  • Not giving others their personal space
  • Library book not returned
  • PE- 2 times with no sneakers
  • Talking at inappropriate time
  • No name on paper (older students)
  • Forgetting materials
  • Missing or incomplete homework
  • Disturbing others

Are there any color change reasons where students CANNOT earn their way back to green?

  • Most grades said NO !!! (unless it is too late in the day)

What might teachers do for those students who complete their silver charts before the end of the school year?

  • Golden star on Eagle board in classroom
  • Earned privilege to go to bathroom or get a drink w/o permission
  • Regular incentive chart to earn no HW pass or prize
  • Give the student a ticket to give to a staff member who earns it
