Parent/Teacher Conferences for Chippens Hill Middle School will be held on the following days:

Tuesday, October 24, 20176:00-8:00 p.m.

Wednesday, October 25, 20176:00-8:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 26, 20176:00-8:00 p.m.

Friday, October 27, 2017*1:15-3:15 p.m.

The conference days will be half days with dismissal at 12:46 p.m.Lunch will be served.

*Indicates afternoon conferences.

Sign-ups slots are on a first come, first serve basis.

You only need to select one conference time from the list. This will be your starting time and location. The night of your conferences you will be directed to rotate through each team classroom at five minute intervals equaling twenty minutes of conference time.



Cross Country

The Boys and Girls cross country team pulled out two victories this week. Monday the cross country team crushed Northeast in both the boys and girls teams. Top Runners for the boys were: 1st place Logan Crowley, 2nd place Dante Marciano and 4th place Anthony Silva. For the girls 2nd place Michaela Figaroa, 3rd place MiKayla Fetzer and 6th place Ranada Armour. On Wednesday both team defeated the Greene Hills teams due to extremely outstanding performances from the following runners: Boys--2nd place Logan Crowley, 3rd place Dante Marciano, and 4th place Marcus Gustafson. For the Girls--1st place MaKayla Fetzer, 2nd place Michaela Figeroa, and 3rd place Ranada Armour.


The Boy's White soccer team lost to Greene Hills 3-2. "Fast Eddie" scored his 3rd goal, also scoring fort he Hornets was the "Great Wall of Ben". Alexis Martinez played well in goal. Also playing well for chippens were Masan, Youseff, Andrew, Ryliegh and "The Chair Fabrizzo"

After being down 3 to 0 at half time the Girl's White roared back with 4 goals by Taigan Parent. Sam Varasconi assisted on 2 of the goals and Maddy Diakon had one assist. Emma Diakon and Ja-nya Artis had a great game in the goal.



The Girl's Blue volleyball team lost Monday to Northeast 2-0. They played consistently in the first game behind serving from Alex Shorette, Sam Sklenka, and Emelia Bourgoin, but lost the match 24-26. They were unable to rebound in the second, losing 25-7 to solid serving from the Tigers. JV also lost 2-0, but saw great play from Angelina Fasci, Charisma Tanguay, and Ashley Seratin.


CHMS Girl's Blue soccer played well and defeated Northeast Middle School by a score of 4-0. Playing well for Chippens were Abby Quintero with sharp passing and an assist. Treva Wishart, scoring a goal. Alexa Sirica, held the mid field firmly with defensive pressure and scoring a goal on a long distance shot. Hannah Alderi scored two goals with wonderful shots that almost ripped the net.

The Boy's White soccer team lost a close game to Northeast. Playing well for the Hornets were Daniel Desmarius, Anthony Fabrizio, Alexis Martinez, and Kyle B.



Girl's Blue soccer beat Greene Hills 3 goals to 1. Nevaeh Austin saved 5 shots in goal and as always Mary Piazza and Jayden Kavanaugh played great defense. Alexa Sirca kept the team motivated with her voice as the Hornets scored 2 goals after halftime. Scoring goals for the Blue team were Hannah Alderi with 2 and Treva Wishart with 1.

The Boy's Blue soccer team defeated Greene Hills by a score of 3-1, raising their record to 2-2. Connor Cyr started the scoring with a one-touch shot off a pass from Cody Greger. Connor scored another goal several minutes later. Cody Greger scored his first goal of the season late in the first half, Hayden Coudill picked up the assist. The star of the game was Geik Doci who made a ton of miraculous saves in goal. Christian, Riley, and Chase all played well for the Hornets.


The Blue volleyball team caught the W against Greene Hills again yesterday 2-0. They won the first game 25-31 behind the solid passing from Brooke Treannie and Sam Sklenka and servign from Olivia Clingan and Ales Shorette. In the second game, Greene Hills jumped out to an early lead 7-4. Emelia Bourgoin then served 5 points in a row to turn the gam around and give the team the momentum it needed. The team had several attacks at the net and some great passing. At the end of the game, the team was again behind 20-22 but Maddie Montgomery stepped to the service line and delivered the last 5 points to seal the deal for the Lady Hornets. In the JV game, there was an improvement in serving all around. Angeling Fasci and Jaylin Amaez both had several sharp serves in a row. Ashley Serafin and Lindsay Brothwell stepped up their passing game, but the team fell short, losing 25-20 and 25-16.



The Blue Volleyball team earned a great victory Wednesday over Greene Hills 2-1. In the first game, the team jumped out to an early lead behind stellar serving and defense, finishing the match 25-20. Olivia Clingan displayed ceiling busting effort, saving balls from off the court, as did Maddie Montgomery and Sam Sklenka. In the second game, Olivia Clingan strung together 7 points in a row to put the team ahead, but with several minute-lasting volleys from each team, Chippens lost 25-23. In the third game, Alex Shorette stunned behind the service line, delivering 5 in a row to seal the deal for the Blue team, 15-10. She had a total of 11 aces in the three games. In the JV game, the team played consistently and worked hard but fell behind 0-2. Ashley Serafin served well, while Charisma Tanguay contributed several great passes to keep her team in the game.

Wednesday, the Girl's White volleyball team defeated West Bristol in two straight games in the Varsity matches by the scores of 25-5 and 25-17. Grace D'Amato led the team in the first game by serving 9 points in a row. Lauren Bender also had a strong serving performance for the Hornets. In the second game, Lauren and Grace continued their serving dominance and got some help from Lilli Lowe and Ella Watson as they contributed with several service points each. Lillian Sirois showed improved passing in the win. In the JV match, the White team beat West Bristol in two straight matches by the score of 15-12 and 15-11. Sarah Lacouture, Julia McPhee, and Ava Higgenbotham all served well for the White team in the win.


The Girl's White suffered a tough loss to West Bristol Wednesday. Playing well for Chippens was Kylie Caperton, Kaylynn LaPointe, Taigan Parent, and Jaelyn DeLeon. Sam Varasconi had the lone goal. Ja-nya Artis and Emma Diakon played well in goal.

8th grade parents,

We have some exciting information to share with you. We are already starting to plan for high school! On October 19, 2017 EC Goodwin Technical High School and Southington Vocational Agricultural High School will be presenting to all 8th grade students. Presentations will start at 9:00 in the auditorium.
