Bruce Kuczenski

Bruce Kuczenski started his basketball career at John J. Jennings, Clarence A. Bingham and Memorial Boulevard Schools.

The Under-12 and Under-14 Boys Club teams he played on won state championships.

At Bristol Central, he earned three varsity letters in leading the
school to two Colonial Conference Championships, in 1978 and 1979, while earning All-City, All-Conference, All-Tournament and All-State honors.

At UConn from 1979-1983, he experienced three NIT appearances, top 20 national rankings and team captain honors his senior season. He was selected to the Big East Conference All-Rookie team in 1979 and was recipient of the Hugh S. Greer Team MVP Award.

He's a member of the UConn Basketball All-Century Ballot, recipient of the Louise Mandak Award and held the record for most games played.

After graduating UConn, he was the 59th overall selection in the NBA draft in being picked by the New Jersey Nets. He also played with the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers. He played an additional five years in Europe, in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium and Switzerland.
